McLEAN, Va. - Gonzaga University finished 16th in the final USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 men's basketball poll, with national champion University of Maryland receiving all 31 first-place votes following Monday's victory over Indiana University.
The Bulldogs, first-round loser to the University of Wyoming in this year's NCAA Tournament, fell from 6th in the fin votingwith 264 points, eight behind No. 15 University of Missouri and 27 ahead of No. 17 Ohio State University. Missouri, a surprise team in the Elite Eight, was unranked in the final regular-season poll, while Ohio State slipped from 12th to 17th after the Buckeyes' first-round NCAA Tournament setback.
This is the fourth straight year the Bulldogs have been ranked in the final USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25.
