Eric Rodland Named Alaska League MVP

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gonzaga University second baseman Eric Rodland has been named the MVP of the Alaska Summer Baseball League while playing for the Athletes in Action team in the collegiate wood bat league.
Rodland won the Alaska League batting crown with a .423 batting average, 87 points higher than the second place batter in the league. Rodland led the league with 71 hits and tied for the league lead with five triples. His 20 stolen bases ranked second in the league and his 25 runs scored ranked third.
Rodland will be a senior at Gonzaga this season after earning first team All-West Coast Conference honors in 2002. He has also been named a two-time third team Academic All-American.
