LOS ANGELES - The Loyola Marymount Lions (10-5, 2-0) remained undefeated at home this season as they handed the Gonzaga University Bulldogs (9-8, 0-2) their second-consecutive West Coast Conference loss Saturday night, defeating the Bulldogs 58-42 at Gersten Pavilion.

Gonzaga cut LMU's lead to seven twice early in the second half. Triana Allen opened the Bulldogs second period scoring with a lay-up at 19:11 off an assist from Ashley Burke. Seven points would be as close as GU could come though as LMU pulled away quickly.

The Lions enjoyed their largest lead of the game, 22 points (54-32) with 4:21 remaining on the game clock. The second half ended with a 10-4 run by the Bulldogs but it was not enough as the Lions cruised to the 16-point win.

Claudine Auld scored a game-high 18 points to lead LMU while Adrianne Slaughter hit a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Ashley Burke collected a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Bulldogs effort as Ashley Anderson followed with eight points. Gonzaga finished shooting 25.4 percent from the field, 13.3 percent from beyond the arc and 41.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Both teams struggled from three-point territory as the Bulldogs went 2-for-15 and Lions landed 1-of-8.

Gonzaga returns home Thursday to open WCC play at the Kennel against the University of San Francisco Lady Dons at 7 p.m.
