SPOKANE, Wash. - The women's soccer match between San Diego State University and Gonzaga University, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, has been cancelled due to the recent San Diego area fires and poor air quality in the San Diego area, San Diego State officials announced on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs are still scheduled to play the University of San Diego in a West Coast Conference match Sunday at 1 p.m. at USD.
"At this point our match with USD is still on as scheduled," Gonzaga athletic director Mike Roth said. "We have been in contact with USD. They are continuing to monitor the situation. Obvisouly, the health of the student-athletes for both teams is the utmost concern. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to those families who have been gaffected by the recent fires in California."
