Zags roll to first league win behind most goals in conference game since 2020

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer earned its first Pac-12 Conference win Sunday with a 6-0 victory over Fresno State. It was the Zags' largest margin of victory in a conference match since a 6-0 win over San Diego in 2020.

Gonzaga (6-6-2, 1-2-0 Pac-12) matched the program's single-game record with eight assists in Sunday's win at Luger Field. The Zags previously recorded eight assists in a 10-0 victory over Whitman in 2020. It also matched Utah State's conference season-high this season, set in an 8-1 win over Utah Tech.

After a scoreless opening 36 minutes, Gonzaga scored three goals in a span of less than five minutes to take control of the match. Brooke Metcalfe opened the scoring at 36:34, finishing a loose ball in the box. Sofia Fox and Shila Rasoul were credited with assists.
