Sam Hess Signs With Anaheim

SPOKANE - Gonzaga University catcher Sam Hess has signed a free agent contract with the Anaheim Angels and will report to the clubs rookie level team in Mesa, Arizona. Hess earned second team All-WCC honors this past season as he hit .301 with three home runs and 24 RBI. The senior caught 51 of Gonzaga's 52 games on the season including 29 straight innings during a double-header against Portland that included games lasting 16 and 13 innings. Hess was a four-year member of the Bulldogs baseball team after playing his high school baseball at Spokane's Mead High.
