CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Gonzaga University women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to the Oregon State University Beavers 1-0 Friday at Lorenz Field.
With the win OSU moves to 6-5-0 and Gonzaga drops to 7-4-0.
After the two teams battled to a scoreless first period with the Beavers holding a shot advantage of 9-2, Oregon State's forward Jodie Taylor, scoring her 10 goal, took a pass from Stacey Mescher and slipped the ball past Gonzaga's goalkeeper Ashley Haugen in the 82nd minute to lift the Beavers to a 1-0 shutout.
Haugen recorded six saves and OSU goalkeeper Melissa Onstad had one save on the day.
The loss is the second in a row for the Zags, marking only the first time this season the Bulldogs have lost consecutive matches.
The Bulldogs will look to end this losing streak on Sunday as they travel to Eugene, Ore. to battle the Ducks of the University of Oregon in a 1 p.m. match at Pape Field.
