SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University baseball program continued to bolster its 2005 roster as Bulldogs head coach Mark Machtolf announced the signing of two new players for next season. Scott Campbell and Matt Fields each signed national letters of intent with Gonzaga.
Campbell comes to Gonzaga after one successful season at Central Arizona College where the left-handed hitting second baseman earned NCJAA All-American honors with a .423 average, 8 doubles and 10 stolen bases. A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Campbell was also a first-team All-Region I selection while leading his team to the Region I Championship and a runner-up finish at the NCJAA Western District championships.

A right-handed pitcher and shortstop at LSHS, Fields compiled an 8-1 record with 80 strikeouts during his senior year. During the Idaho/Oregon/Washington All-Star series Fields was named the offensive MVP.
