SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's soccer team continued its appearance in the national rankings as they moved up two spots to No. 21 in the Soccer Buzz top-30 poll, dropped one spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America to No. 21, and made its inaugural appearance in the Soccer Times top-25 poll at No. 25.
The Bulldogs battled to a scoreless draw this past weekend against Saint Mary's College moving the Bulldogs overall record to 11-3-4 and their West Coast Conference record to 2-1-3. In the 0-0 draw senior goalkeeper Ashley Haugen recorded her 10th shutout of the season, registering three saves in the process. Haugen's 10 shutouts leads the WCC and is a program record for single-season shutouts. Gonzaga has not allowed a goal to be scored since the Oct. 9th loss to the second-ranked University of Portland, marking a 520 minute scoring drought for opponents.
The 21st-ranked Bulldogs will make one final push for their inaugural berth into the NCAA Women's College Cup Tournament as they close out their regular season with a noon WCC match on Saturday against the University of San Francisco at Martin Field, where the Zags are currently unbeaten on the season posting a 5-0-1 record. This Sunday, Gonzaga will honor its two seniors, Ashley Haugen and Stacey Sarro, in their final match of their four-year careers at Martin Field
