BOISE, Idaho - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team dominated play in the final day of the Boise State Red Lion Spring Break Tournament Saturday afternoon defeating Montana State University-Billings, 7-0

GU got the early momentum capturing the doubles point as GU swept all three matches. Dru Ernst and Reid Arthur teamed in the No. 1 spot to defeat Ryan Smith and Kellen Malone 8-0. Cooper Fratt and Marco Pineda then assured GU the doubles point with a 8-4 win in the No. 2 doubles spot. GU completed the sweep when Brett Womack and Robert Penney teamed together for an 8-2 win over Sergio Diaz and Jose Garcia.

The Bulldogs fed on that early momentum going into singles play and swept all six matches. Bryce Cooper downed Diaz in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Ernst followed with a 2-6, 7-5, 10-2 win in the No. 2 spot over Sanchez. In the No. 3 spot Womack handed Ryan Smith a straight sets loss, 6-1, 6-2. Arthur continued GU's dominance in the No. 4 spot with his 6-2, 6-3 victory over Malone. Pineda then picked up a win in the No. 5 spot when he downed Sean O'Daniel in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Penney then completed the Bulldogs perfect day with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Seth Maristuen.

The Bulldogs will return to the courts on April 9 as they host Lewis-Clark State College in a 2 p.m. match at Martin Courts.
