Crick Ties For Sixth At Braveheart Classic

BEAUMONT, Calif. - Brandon Crick, in a five-way tie for first after Monday's first round, finished in a 5-way tie for sixth after rounds of 78 and 75 at the Braveheart Classic men's golf tournament Tuesday.

Crick, who had a 75 in Monday's first round, finished at 228 over the 6,916-yard, par 72 Oak Valley Golf Course. Matt Kleinrock of team champion Jacksonville University captured medalist honors at 220 after round of 78-73-69, the lone golfer to have a sub-70 round.

Jacksonville won the team title at 896 with UCLA, holding a 2-stroke lead after the completion of Tuesday second round that saw play suspended Monday because of darkness, taking second at 905. Gonzaga was 15th at 966 after rounds of 334-309-323.

In addition to Crick, a freshman from McCook, Neb., playing in his first spring tournament, the Bulldogs had just three other sub-80 rounds in the tourney.
