RENO, Nev. - Gonzaga University's men's golf team is 10th after 36 holes of the Wolf Pack Classic on a chilly Monday at the Wolf Run Golf Club.
The Bulldogs shot a 293-295 for a 36-hole score of 588, five strokes out of eighth which was shared by the University of Idaho and Sacramento State University. Wichita State University and host University of Nevada share the first-day lead at 567, one shot ahead of Fresno State University.
Although no rain fell, the day was chilly and the start of play was delayed one hour because of frost on the greens.
Derek Cheney led the Bulldogs Monday with 72-74 for a 36-hole score of 146 and a tie for 25th. Jason Azzarito had a 143 after a second-round 73, Kyle Huus opened with a 73 and finished at 149, Kevin PArkhurst had an opening round 73 and knotted Huus at 149 and Travis Johnsen posted a second-round 72 and had a 36-hole score of 151.
Dustin Garza of Wichita State shot a pair of 67s for a 134 and a 3-shot lead heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes.
