ERIE, Colo. - Another chilly and sometimes windy day greeted golfers Tuesday for the final day of the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational women's golf tournament, but unlike Monday the conditions were at least dry.

Monday's weather-halted second round and the scheduled third round were completed Tuesday.

Gonzaga University finished tied for 13th with Fresno State University at 937, just one stroke behind Portland State University and the University of Hawai'i.

Texas Tech University captured the team title at 882 for a 12-stroke victory over the University of Nebraska. Alex Gibson of the Aggies claimed medalist honors at 213 after rounds of 70-71-72 for a 213 over the 6,350-yard, par 72 Colorado National Golf Course for a 5-stroke edge over Kasey Claussen of Colorado State University.

Sage Suffecool shot a 74 Tuesday to help rally the Bulldogs to a final round 308 after a second-round 321. Suffecool finished with a 231 after rounds of 77-80-74 to tie for 34th. Victoria Fallgren was at 233 with rounds of 75-79-79 and finished knotted for 42nd.

Gonzaga head coach Brad Rickel said Monday's conditions were among the worse he's seen in his collegiate coaching career.

"It was brutal the entire day," Rickel said. "It was so windy it tore my wind proof umbrella to shreds. We had one nine-hole stretch that did us in. The other teams seemed to cope better than us. I don't know if that is a sign of our youth or what, but I think we lost eight to 10 strokes to the teams around us in the standings."

But Rickel said the conditions were better Tuesday, but it was still about 40 degrees with a 15 mph wind when the teams teed off.

"We got off to a rough start and then rebounded and played well," Rickel said of Tuesday's play. "We played the last nine holes with minimal wind. Sage shot a 74 which was a great comeback on her part. We caught a few teams that were ahead of us entering the day and we almost caught two more. I thought we were a top eight team coming into the tournament."

Fallgren was the lone Bulldog to break 80 in all three rounds.

"Victoria had a solid 75 in the first round and was in an okay spot" Rickel said. "Then the weather hit."

The Bulldogs will be idle until Nov. 2-4 when they compete at the Turtle Bay Resort Invitational in Kahuka, Oahu.
