Gray Named West Coast Conference Co-Player Of Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior guard Steven Gray is the West Coast Conference men's basketball Co-Player of the Week after his performance helped the Bulldogs to a pair of season-opening wins.

Gray shared the award with the University of Portland's Luke Sikma.

In the Bulldogs two season-opening wins, Gray averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 assists, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals. He scored 25 points in a 117-72 season-opening win over Southern University, and came back with 17 points Sunday against IUPUI in the opening round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic Regional Round at the McCarthey Athletic Center to give him exactly 1,000 career points. He became the 33rd member of the 1,000-point club.

In addition to his 25 points Friday, he had a career-high nine assists, grabbed seven rebounds and had three steals in 28 minutes. Against IUPUI he also had eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals in the 86-56 win over IUPUI.
