Women's Basketball Ranked 24th In AP Top 25

Feb. 1, 2010

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's basketball team cracked the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time in nearly five year years. The Bulldogs, who have been receiving votes all season, bumped up to 24th this week with 83 total votes. It is the first time since March 1, 2005 the Zags have been ranked in the AP poll and just the third time in school history.

Gonzaga's first appearance in the Top 25 came on Feb. 22, 2005. The Zags were then riding a 20-game winning streak, then nation's longest at the time, to gain its No. 25 ranking in the Associated Press Poll.

The Zags, currently 18-4 overall, are on a nine-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 27, 2009 and have won the nine games by an average of 34.1 points per game.
