SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University sophomore Victoria Fallgren has qualified for the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, while fellow sophomore Genna Dodge is an alternate for the event.
The WAPL will be contested June 21-16 at The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame on the University of Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Ind. It will be the first time the WAPL will be played on a university or college owned golf course.
Fallgren, a native of Lakewood, Calif., finished in a four-way tie for third at 71 in the Chino Hills, Calif., sectional qualifying played at Los Serranos Golf & Country Club. Gyeol Park of Korea was the top qualifier with a 66.
Dodge, from Post Falls, Idaho, shot a 74 and was one of two alternates in the Tacoma, Wash., sectional qualifier played at Meadow Park Golf Course. Seohee Moon of Mukilteo earned the top spot with a 71.
The Warren Golf Course will be a par 71 layout at either 6,096 or 6,133 yards depending on the layout of the par 4 sixth hole which will play either 363 or 400 yards for the championship.
A field of 156 competitors will play 36 holes of stroke play with the low 64 scorers advancing to match play. A 36-hole championship is scheduled for June 26.
