LAS VEGAS - Gonzaga University's men's basketball opponent in the Zappos.com West Coast Conference Championships has been narrowed to two teams following Thursday's play at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

No. 6 seed University of San Diego defeated No. No. 7 Pepperdine University 76-54 Thursday and will now face No. 3 BYU Friday in a quarterfinal matchup for a berth in Saturday's 8 p.m. semifinal against No. 2 Gonzaga.

In other first-round action Thursday, No. 5 University of San Francisco downed No. 8 University of Portland 87-66 to set up a Friday quarterfinal against No. 4 Loyola Marymount University. That winner will meet No. 1 seed Saint Mary's College in Saturday's 6 p.m. semifinal.
