GONZAGA CLOSES OUT THE SEASON AT HOME THIS WEEKEND: The Gonzaga University women's soccer team closes out the 2013 season with two home matches this weekend. The Bulldogs host the University of San Francisco on Thursday at 2 p.m. and No. 8 Santa Clara University Saturday for Senior Day at 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE SAN FRANCISCO DONS: The University of San Francisco enters into its match with Gonzaga University with a 6-8-4 overall mark and a 1-4-2 record in West Coast Conference. After losing five-straight, starting Sept. 26 against Long Beach State University, the Dons have recorded a 1-1-2 mark over the last five matches, including a 2-0 victory over Pepperdine University, Nov. 1 and a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Loyola Marymount University, Nov. 3. Lexie Krueger leads the squad with three goals, while three different players have notched two goals apiece. Madal Schiffel had played every minute in goal for San Francisco and has allowed 25 goals and made 79 saves.

ABOUT THE SANTA CLARA BRONCOS: The Santa Clara University women's soccer team stands atop the West Coast Conference standings with a perfect 7-0 league mark. The Broncos overall hold a 13-3-1 record and currently are ranked No. 8 in the nation. SCU has won nine-straight matches, including six shutout wins and two victories where it tallied nine goals in each. The Broncos are coming off a 9-2 victory over Pepperdine University, Nov. 3. Three Santa Clara players have scored 10-plus goals this season; Julie Johnston (12), Morgan Marlborough (11), and Sofia Huerta (10). Marlborough is the reigning WCC Player of the Week after scoring her second hat trick of the season against the Waves.

ZAGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE HISTORY: Gonzaga University women's soccer ended the 2012 West Coast Conference season with a 1-6-1 mark. The Bulldogs tie came against the University of Portland - a 1-1 double-overtime tie - and was the first non-loss against the Pilots in 21 matches dating back to the 1992 campaign. The most wins in a league season for GU has been three coming in five different seasons, including 2010 when the Zags closed out WCC at 3-4. Gonzaga is one win away from tying that mark and two away from breaking the record for most league wins in a season. The Zags are currently 2-5 in the WCC with two matches to play.

AMY EDWARDS IN FIFTH YEAR AT THE HELM: Gonzaga University women's soccer head coach Amy Edwards is in her fifth-year at the helm in 2013. Edwards currently holds a 35-53-4 overall record and is the second winningest coach in Gonzaga history. To see Edwards' full bio, go to GoZags.com.

LOOKING AT SENIOR EMILY ECKMANN'S CAREER: One of two seniors on the Gonzaga University women's soccer squad, Emily Eckmann is a defender/midfielder from Seattle, Wash. In her four years with the Zags, Eckmann has played in 74 total matches, getting the starting nod 66 times. She has tallied three career goals and notched five career assists. This year, Eckmann has scored two goals, including one in West Coast Conference action. She also was named 2012 WCC All-Academic honorable mention.

LOOKING AT SENIOR ALI OHASHI'S CAREER: One of two seniors on the Gonzaga University women's soccer squad, Ali Ohashi is a midfielder from Montesano, Wash. In her four years at Gonzaga, Ohashi has played in 65 total matches, starting 49 of them. She has scored four career goals, including three her sophomore season, and assisted on two others.

SEVEN DIFFERENT PLAYERS HAVE SCORED FOR GONZAGA: Seven different Gonzaga University women's soccer players have scored this season. Three sophomores, two juniors, one freshman, and a senior make-up the goal scoring. Sophomore Heather Johnson leads the team with five goals.

JOHNSON WITH TWO MULTI-GOAL MATCHES: Gonzaga University women's soccer sophomore Heather Johnson has scored two goals in two different matches this season. She tallied two goals to place the Bulldogs to a 3-0 victory over Eastern Washington, Sept. 17 and then scored both goals in the Zags 2-1 double-overtime come-from-behind victory at Saint Mary's College, Nov. 3. Johnson is the first Zag to have a multi-goal match since classmate Sila Tuiofea scored two goals in GU's 2012 season opening 3-1 win over the University of South Dakota.

FRESHMAN BAGGERLY HAS FOUR GOALS ON THE YEAR: Gonzaga University women's soccer freshman Karley Baggerly has had an impressive first year on the pitch for the Bulldogs. She has scored four goals - second most on the team - including two in West Coast Conference play. Baggerly also has assisted on two other goals for a total of 10 points. Her total points ties Heather Johnson for the most points on the team.

EMILY ECKMANN NOTCHES FOURTH CAREER GOAL: Gonzaga University women's soccer senior Emily Eckmann notched the Bulldogs final goal in their 3-1 victory at Loyola Marymount, Oct. 13. It was the midfielder's fourth goal of her career and second of the year. She also tallied the lone goal in the Zags 3-1 setback at Oklahoma State University, Sept. 1.

TWO GOALS IN FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF ACTION VERSUS LMU: An offensive explosion that produced two goals in the first five minutes of play allowed the Gonzaga University women's soccer team to run away with a 3-1 victory over Loyola Marymount University, Oct. 13. Gonzaga hadn't scored two goals that fast in a contest since the 2000 campaign when it defeated Whitman College 10-0 and rattled off its first two goals at 2:29 and 4:39.

WHAT GONZAGA RETURNED: The Gonzaga University women's soccer squad returned 14 letterwinners in 2013, including seven starters, and adds 11 newcomers and two returning redshirts. The team is led by seniors Emily Eckmann and Ali Ohashi, along with a strong junior class of Tori Lee, Cricket Harber, Katey Pennington, Kasey Rubosky and Jordan Travis. Rubosky, a midfielder, returns as the squad's leader in points and goals, having notched 10 points on four goals and two assists a season ago. Lee, another midfielder, is the Bulldogs returning assists leader, having tallied five as a sophomore.
