USA, Canada Both Win FIBA World Championship Openers

PANEVEZYS, Lithuania - Gonzaga University women's basketball incoming freshman Emma Wolfram and the Canadian Junior Women's National Team (JWNT) won its first game of the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship by forfeit as Team Senegal was unable to play the match. Canada has been awarded a 20-0 victory and two points in the standings.

The JWNT will match-up against the Netherlands on day two of the competition. Rounding-out the four teams that make-up Group C is France. Team Canada is scheduled to tip-off against the Netherlands on Friday, July 19 at 3:30 a.m. (PT).

The 2013 USA U19 Women's World Championship Team earned a 113-47 victory in its FIBA U19 World Championship opener over host Lithuania on Thursday. Gonzaga University head coach Kelly Graves is currently an assistant coach with the squad.

The U.S. continues preliminary round play with a July 19 contest (10:15 a.m. PT) against China and closes out against Mali on July 20 (10:15 a.m. PT).
