ST. LOUIS—Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals announced their roster for their upcoming National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday, and former Zag hurler Marco Gonzales made the cut and was included on the playoff roster.
"We are extremely proud and happy for Marco as we continue to root for him and the Cardinals in the playoffs," said Gonzaga head coach Mark Machtolf.
Gonzales, a starting pitcher and infielder for the Zags from 2011 to 2013, made the Cardinals' roster as a reliever and will pitch out of the bullpen. He made his big league debut June 25 and earned his first MLB victory Aug. 30.

The series between St. Louis and Los Angeles will be broadcast across the country on Fox Sports 1 or the MLB Network. Game one of best-of-five series is slated for Friday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Los Angeles.
