NCAA Berth On The Line At WCC Baseball Championship

STOCKTON, Calif. - A berth into the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Tournament is up for grabs as the 2014 West Coast Conference Championship opens Thursday for Gonzaga University at Banner Island Ballpark.
The four team tournament features the Bulldogs, Pepperdine University, Loyola Marymount University and Santa Clara University. Action begins with Pepperdine and Santa Clara Thursday at 3 p.m. The Zags and Lions follow in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
The losers of the Thursday games will play Friday at noon while the winners advance to the 3:30 p.m. game. The tournament is a double elimination bracket with no "if necessary" Championship game.
Thursday's and Friday's games can be seen on theW.tv. Saturday's 7 p.m. championship game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
Gonzaga is the lone returner to the championship from last year's inaugural field. However, GU is still searching for its first win at the tournament as the club went 0-2 as the top seed last year.
