KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Gonzaga University's men's basketball team is among the recipients as The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Wednesday announced the second annual 2013-14 Team Academic Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics.
These awards, earned by more than 125 colleges and universities, recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2013-14 season.
The Bulldogs, the only West Coast Conference team to receive the honor, compiled a 3.155 GPA this past academic year.
In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA Division I and II, must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2013-14 season.
