SPOKANE, Wash.—The schedule for two Gonzaga University home soccer matches this Sunday, Oct. 5, has been shuffled a bit to accommodate opposing teams' travel plans.
With the new schedule, the GU women's soccer team will now play the first match of the doubleheader, taking on Pacific at 11:00 a.m. Sunday. The contest against the Tigers will be both teams' second West Coast Conference matches of the 2014 season.
The Zags' men's soccer squad will now play the afternoon match, kicking off against Saint Mary's at 1:30 p.m. Although Saint Mary's is also a WCC institution, the match against the Gaels will not count towards the conference standings.
All Zag home matches are played at Luger Field on the Gonzaga campus.
Both the men's and women's teams also have contests Friday, Oct. 3, but those will proceed as scheduled. The women's team hosts Saint Mary's at 3:30 p.m. for the first WCC match of the season. The men, meanwhile, will head to Stockton, Calif., for a non-conference game at Pacific.
