SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's soccer heads to California to battle two opponents from the Big West. The Zags, currently 3-1 in the young season, are set to face Cal State Northridge (0-2-1) Friday at 7pm and UC Irvine (0-4) Sunday at 1pm.
"We had a very positive week of training." said Head Coach Amy Edwards. "The team is excited and prepared for another tough pair of games on the road this weekend in California."
Karley Baggerly found the net twice in last Sunday's 5-0 win over Idaho and has scored 4 goals through the first 4 games of the season. The sophomore forward from Canby, OR tallied 6 goals and 3 assists in her freshman campaign.
Cassie Geerdts, who missed all of the 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons while recovering from a pair of knee surgeries, notched a goal and two assists against Idaho. Geerdts scored the game-winning goal with 10 seconds remaining when the Zags topped Cal State Bakersfield in double overtime to open the season.
