SABONIS NAMED WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore forward Domantas Sabonis put together an ultra-efficient week in averaging 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while making 19-of-23 field goals to earn West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career. He's the first Gonzaga men's basketball player to win the award this season, and was one of four GU players to earn the award last season. In a 91-52 win over Northern Arizona, Sabonis scored a career-high 26 points on 12-of-13 shooting, while pulling down seven rebounds (four offensive) and adding one block. Three days later in a 101-56 win over Mount St. Mary's, Sabonis made 7-of-10 shots to score 15 points, but more impressively he set another career-high in pulling down 14 rebounds. For the week he had nine offensive rebounds, helping Gonzaga outscore its opponents a total of 38 to 11 in second-chance points.

JACK OF ALL TRADES
Senior Kyle Dranginis will be relied upon for leadership and his ability to fill up the stat sheet. Coming off the bench in `14-15, the Nampa, Idaho, native was third in the team in blocks (15), fourth in steals (23), fifth in assists (63) and sixth in rebounding (2.6/game). He's done more of the same this season, notching 13 points and 5 assists against Mount St. Mary's and totaling a team-best 10 assists to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game, two steals and one block.

BENCH PRODUCTION
Gonzaga's bench has been huge this season, led by Domantas Sabonis' 20.5 and Silas Melson's 12.5 ppg. The Zags' bench has outscored opponents by a total of 93 to 37, including a 49-9 mark against Northern Arizona. Sabonis had 26 vs. NAU and 15 vs. MSM, while Melson had 10 vs. NAU and 15 vs. MSM. Bryan Alberts has also provided a spark off the bench from behind the three-point line, making three triples in each game to average 9.0 ppg.

SECOND HALF TEAM
In two full games this season, Gonzaga has been dominant in the second half as compared to the numbers the Zags have posted in the first half. GU has scored 109 second-half points compared to 83 first-half points and shot 44-74 (.594) in second half compared to 31-60 (.517) in the first half. The defense has also put the clamps down in the second half, holding opponents to four less total points in the second half than the first and to a .279 second-half field goal percentage compared to a .371 mark in the first half of games.

SABONIS DOMINATES NORTHERN ARIZONA
Despite playing only 18 minutes in GU's season opener vs. the Lumberjacks, Domantas Sabonis racked up an incredibly efficient 26 points on 12-for-13 shooting from the field. He added seven rebounds, including four on the offensive end. Sabonis led the Zags last season in field goal percentage at .668 and is off to an even better start after Wednesday's performance.

BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS
The Mount St. Mary's game officially kicked off the Battle 4 Atlantis for the Zags. The bracket play for the tournament, which takes place Nov. 25-27 at the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas, includes Washington, Texas, Texas A&M, Charlotte, UConn, Syracuse and Michigan.

WASHINGTON RIVALRY BEGINS A YEAR EARLY
Before Gonzaga and Washington were pitted against each other in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis, the two schools had agreed to a four-year home-and-home series that would begin in the 2016-17 season. The location and date of the first game has not been announced. The teams last played on Dec. 9, 2006, with GU taking a 97-77 win. The Zags have won eight of the last nine in the series.

Killian Tillie, 6-8, Forward, Antibes, France (INSEP)
Tillie, along with fellow signee Larsen, follows in the footsteps of current Zags Domantas Sabonis (Lithuania) and Przemek Karnowski (Poland), crossing the Atlantic Ocean to play for Gonzaga. On the way to winning MVP honors and helping his team to the title at the 2013 FIBA U16 Division A European Championships, he averaged 14.3 points and 9.6 rebounds and a tournament-leading 63.4 field-goal percentage. Tillie also led his country to a bronze medal at the 2015 FIBA 3-on-3 U18 World Championships.

Jacob Larsen, 6-10, Center, Holte, Denmark (SISU Copenhagen)

He averaged 20.0 points and 12.1 rebounds, while shooting a tournament-best 67.4 percent from the field. Larsen posted 24 points and 16 rebounds in the championship game victory. For his efforts, Eurobasket.com named him the U16 Division B Best Player and Best Center.

Rui Hachimura, 6-7, Forward, Sendai, Japan (Meisei High School)
