SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga women's basketball team wrapped up the year with a 68-47 victory over San Francisco Thursday.

The Zags (11-4, 3-0 West Coast Conference) won their fifth straight game behind a career-high 20 points from Jill Barta. The freshman recorded the team's first 20-point game of the season on 8-of-11 shooting from the field.

Gonzaga made 10 of its 19 three-point attempts and finished 54.2 percent from the field. The Bulldogs held USF to a season-low 28.8 percent from the field, including 4-of-18 from behind-the-arc. The Dons' 47 points were also a season-low.

"I really liked the way we shot the ball tonight," Gonzaga head coach Lisa Fortier said. "I really liked that we didn't have any lulls quarter-wise. I felt like we were fairly consistent throughout the game tonight. There were a lot of positives to take away."

Emma Stach made five of her six shots behind-the-perimeter and finished with 15 points for GU. She was the first Zag to make five three-pointers in a game since Elle Tinkle hit 5-of-6 against San Diego last season on Dec. 29. Georgia Stirton made both of her three-point shots and added 12 points Thursday. Kiara Kudron led Gonzaga with seven rebounds, while Laura Stockton had a game-high four assists to one turnover.

As a team, the Bulldogs had 16 assists on their 26 made field goals. USF entered the game leading the conference with an average of 17.6 assists per game. It finished with a season-low seven.

Gonzaga never trailed and the game featured no ties. The Zags led 15-7 after the first quarter and 32-20 at halftime. San Francisco closed within eight, 36-28, with 5:02 left in the third quarter, but GU had a 46-30 advantage entering the final period. Barta gave the Bulldogs their largest lead, 67-41, on a lay-in with 1:37 left in regulation.

The Dons (9-5, 0-3 WCC) grabbed 11 offensive rebounds, but Gonzaga had a 35-29 advantage on the boards. The Zags led 26-16 in the paint and had a 26-13 edge in bench points.

Taylor Proctor and Zhane Dikes both scored 13 points for USF. Dikes added seven rebounds. Proctor came into the game averaging 21.2 points per game.

The game was the last of the year in NCAA Div. I women's basketball. The 5 p.m. tipoff was the latest scheduled game in the country on New Year's Eve.

The Bulldogs welcome Santa Clara (12-2, 3-0) Saturday. The Broncos won their program-best 12th straight game at Portland Thursday, 67-45. SCU rides into Spokane on the third longest active winning streak in the nation. Tipoff between GU and Santa Clara is 2 p.m. Saturday.
