KAPALUA, Hawaii—The Gonzaga University women's golf team continued its final regular season tournament Tuesday, playing the middle round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on The Bay Course of the Kapalua Resort on Maui.
Sophomore Ciera Min took over at the top of the Gonzaga leaderboard, firing her second day of 1-over-par 73. The Hilo, Hawaii native is two over par for the entire tournament with 146 strokes, moving into the top 10 and a tie for ninth place. One stroke back, senior Han Wu is tied for 14th at three-over-par for the tournament. The carded 76 strokes (+4) during the second round, posting two bogeys on both the front and back nines.
Also in the top 25, Alice Kim is currently tied for 21st with a cumulative tally of 149, five strokes above par. She cut a stroke off her first round tally on Tuesday, shooting 74 (+2) in round two.
Freshman Dania Uy saw a tough second round, carding 81 (+9) Tuesday. She's tied for 51st with a two-day tally of 157, 13 strokes above par.
Rounding out the Zags' lineup, Raychelle Santos is tied for 86th with a tournament score of 176 (+32). She shot 90 (+18) during round two.
"The course played completely different today and we did not make the necessary adjustments," said Gonzaga women's golf head coach Brad Rickel. "Ciera continues to play well, and Alice and Han hung in there as well.
As a team, the Bulldogs are in eighth with 599 strokes (+23). UC Davis moved into the lead with at 1-over-par 577, and the Aggies' Andrea Wong took over first place on the individual scoreboard at 139 (-5).
The Zags will wrap up the Anuenue Spring Break Classic Wednesday, March 25, with one final round on The Bay Course. The third round will begin at 10:45 a.m. Pacific (7:45 a.m. Hawaii).
