Track Sweeps Top Three Spots in Men's 10K

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga men's track team dominated the 10,000-meter race at the Northwest Scoring Clash at Spokane Falls Community College Friday.

Dillon Quintana ran the seventh fastest time in program history, finishing first in the 10,000 at 30:53.44. Jack Pearce followed closely behind in second at 31:05.95. His time ranks ninth in program history. Max Kaderabek placed third with a time of 31:13.69, the 10th fastest time on the GU all-time list.

Quintana's time was a two-minute personal record, while Pearce bested his PR by 80seconds, and Kaderabek had a personal best by 30 seconds.

Kellen Manley placed eighth in the event Friday. The freshman crossed the line at 32:56.85.

In the women's 10,000 meters, Julie Henling placed second and also ran a personal record. The sophomore finished with a time of 39:33.48.

In its eighth year, the meet is also known as the Washington versus the Region, or WAR VIII. The Zag men scored 25 points to help the Washington schools dominate on the first day of the meet.

The first section of the men's 5,000 meters opens Saturday's action at 9:30 a.m. Devin Roche will start the action for the Zags in the event.
