WGOLF's Kim Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. â€" For the second straight season and third time in her career, Gonzaga women's golfer Alice Kim was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars list, announced recently by the organization.

Kim is one of 758 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor, and carries a 3.53 grade-point average in Sport Management. She also collected six top-25 finishes this season, including an All-WCC, third-place showing at the West Coast Conference Championships. Her 74.04 stroke average was the second-highest on the team this season. Kim earned the award as a freshman and junior before collecting her third career WGCA honor.

In addition, Kim earned WCC All-Academic honors, was named the Gonzaga Co-Female Senior Athlete of the Year and secured a spot on the Gonzaga Dean's List.

The criteria for selection on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team is among the most stringent in college athletics, requiring honorees to achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
