SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga women's soccer handed unbeaten Cal State Fullerton its first draw of the season with a 1-1 final at Luger Field Friday.

Despite shooting a season-low nine shots, the Zags (1-2-3) took advantage of their opportunities. Karley Baggerly scored her team-high fourth goal of the season in the 72nd minute to even the score. The Titans finished with 22 shots, a season-high for a GU opponent. Fullerton placed 10 shots on goal, compared to the Bulldogs' three.

Friday's game marked the second 110-minute match in consecutive contests for Gonzaga. It was the fourth overtime game in six matches for the Zags, including the third double-overtime contest.

"I'm proud of the effort we put forth today through 110 minutes," Gonzaga Head Coach Amy Edwards said. "We weren't as sharp as we would have liked, but showed some grit and came away with positives against an undefeated team. It's important we take some confidence away from this, as it helps prepare us for our continued tough schedule."

The Titans' (6-0-1) Rebecca Wilson entered the game second in the country in goals scored, and she opened the scoring with a goal in the 54th minute. The senior received a ball from Sami Koemans, dribbled around the outstretched GU goalkeeper, Christie Tombari, and struck a ball into the back of the net from the top of the 18-yard box. It was Koemans first assist of the season.

With 18 minutes left in regulation, Baggerly scored the equalizer. She kicked a loose ball in the box to the far-post for the goal. The junior found the back of the net for the 14th time in her career, which moved her to eighth on the all-time program list.

"Karley can score finesse-type goals," Edwards said. "But, as she showed today, she can also score goals in gritty fashion. She had to work for that one."

Baggerly finished the game with a team-high three shots. Wilson took seven, placing two on frame. Fullerton's Sarah Fajnor placed four of her five shots on goal.

Cal State Fullerton's Morgan Bertsch finished with two saves. Tombari made a season-high nine saves. The redshirt junior needs three saves to pass assistant coach Susan Brown for sixth on the GU career saves list.

"I think Christie (Tombari) is coming into her groove," Edwards said. "She made some really smart decisions and some big saves."

Six Zags played all 110 minutes, and a seventh played 103 minutes. Freshman McKenna Ferrera got some key experience off of the bench and played a collegiate-high 44 minutes.

"I was impressed by McKenna's play today," Edwards said. "She stepped in for an injured player and really had a defensive presence in the middle of the field."

Gonzaga continues its difficult stretch of games against Oklahoma State (2-3-0) Sunday. The Cowgirls have made the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons. They make their first trip to Spokane in the second meeting between the programs all-time. Sunday's game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Live coverage will be available on GoZags.com.
