SABONIS REBOUNDS EVERYTHING IN SIGHT
Domantas Sabonis had one of the most dominating rebounding games in Gonzaga history at Pacific with 20 boards, and then followed it up with 17 at home against Santa Clara. The 20 was his career high and the first 20-rebound game for a GU player since Josh Heytvelt had 22 at Pepperdine in 2007. For the season, Sabonis is averaging 11.5 rebounds per game, which if kept up, would mark the first double-digit rebounder for a season since Paul Cathey's 11.5 per game during the 1977-78 season. Sabonis already has posted 12 double-doubles to rank ninth in the nation and has a team-high 11 games with at least 13 rebounds.
WILTJER'S MASTERFUL HALF
Kyle Wiltjer had the biggest half of his career on Thursday against Santa Clara, scoring 23 points. He was nearly perfect, knocking down 8 of 10 field goals, including 6-of-7 from behind the three point line. He made his only free throw of the half and grabbed four rebounds. It marked the fourth time this year that he has posted at least 20 points in a half. Wiltjer ended the game with a season-high-tying 35 points, marking his fifth game with 30-plus on the year.
