Andrade joins Gonzaga after making impacts on her school and club teams in Canada. She was a five-year team captain of the Bradford Eagles club team that was the 2015 Provincial and National Champion. Bradford posted an undefeated record last season. Andrade was a member of the Ontario Youth Soccer League U17 Girls East-Side Champion, which conceded the fewest goals in the league.
"I chose Gonzaga because it is a great school that meets all my academic and athletic needs," Andrade said. "I can easily see myself there for the next four years of my life."
Andrade played two seasons for the St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic Secondary School soccer team. She was a four-year member of the Blackbears' volleyball team. She boasts a 3.8 GPA and has been named to the school's honor roll all four years.
"Coming off a National Championship, Alyssa is playing with a tremendous amount of confidence," GU women's soccer head coach Amy Edwards said. "She will bring a strong defensive mentality, as well as assist our attack with her acute passing ability."
