BANDON, Ore. -- The Gonzaga men's golf team placed 10th at the seventh annual Bandon Dunes Championship Tuesday. Sean Walsh led the Zags with a 19th-place finish on the Bandon Trails Course.
Walsh tied with five other golfers for 19th at 10-over-par (223). He had a 78 (+7) round on the final day of the three-day, 54-hole tournament. The senior was one of six golfers to eagle a hole in the event. He eagled the par-four eighth hole in the final round.
"Sean still managed to get another top-20 finish, despite being off with his game this week," GU Head Coach
Robert Gray said. "Bandon Trails can really punish you if your ball striking is off and Sean just had a few too many bad holes to get another top-10 finish. All said though, not a bad week for him."

th. He had 14 of his 31 pars in the tournament in Round 3. The sophomore was three-over on the front-nine and two-over on the back-nine. He fired a 76 (+5) in the third round and totaled a 229 (+16) in the tournament.
"Angus continued to scratch it around the course and post a decent score in the conditions," Gray said. "His five over par round actually moved him up in the field, showing how tough the course played."

The Bulldogs totaled a 309 (+25) as a team in the third round. They finished the tournament 63-over (915).
"The course played tough today with rain, wind and cooler temperatures for most of the round," Gray said. "We were able to move up one spot, but yesterday's bad round was just too much to overcome for us to finish respectively this week. The team will get a break for the rest of the week for spring break then we'll get back at it next week before we head to Oregon State for our next event."
Gonzaga opens the two-day Airstream Adventures Northwest Classic hosted by Oregon State on March 21. The 54-hole tournament in Canby, Ore., will have live scoring from the Willamette Valley Golf Club.
