ABOUT THE SERIES:
- This is the 23rd all-time meeting between Gonzaga and Montana. The Griz lead the series, 13-9-0.
- The Zags have won three of the 10 all-time meetings in Missoula.
- The Grizzlies won the first 12 meetings, between 1994 and 2002. The Bulldogs then won nine straight in the series, between 2003 and '11. Montana ended that streak with a 2-0 victory in Spokane in 2014.
- Montana won the first all-time meeting, 4-0, in Missoula, on Sept. 9, 1994.
SCOUTING THE GRIZ:
- Montana is coming off of a 1-0 win over Boise State Friday. The Griz got a first half goal from Charlene Burger in their third shutout of the season. Kailey Norman made two saves for UM.
- Montana is ranked No. 10 in this week's NSCAA Pacific Region poll.
- UM has gone 21-8-6 on its home field since the start of the 2012 season, with six wins in each of the last two seasons, the most in a year since 2001.
- Gonzaga and UM share Washington State as a common opponent this season. GU handed the Cougars a 1-0 loss in Spokane, while Montana fell to WSU in Pullman, 2-1.
GETTING OFFENSIVE:
- The Zags have taken a combined 38 shots in the past two games, with 19 going on goal.
- The Bulldogs have had a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks over the past two games as well.
- GU's 22 shots Friday at Utah State, were most taken since the Bulldogs had 28 versus Utah State in a 1-1 double-overtime draw last season in Spokane on Sept. 6.
- Gonzaga's five-goal output in the 5-2 win over Portland State Sunday, were the most goals scored since a 5-0 shutout over Idaho on Aug. 31, 2014. GU outshot the Vikings, 16-3, and placing a season-high 10 shots on goal.
EDWARDS NEAR THE CENTURY MARK:
- Amy Edwards is one win away from her 100th career victory as a head coach.
- She has 52 wins at Gonzaga and 47 at the University of Tulsa.
- Edwards' first career win was a 4-1 victory at Tulsa over Arkansas-Little Rock in 1995.
