Women’s Golf Preps for Pat Lesser Harbottle Invite

Tourney hosted by Seattle U at Tacoma C&GC

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women's golf team will hit the road to the west side of the state to compete in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Oct. 15-16, hosted by Seattle U at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.
 
THE TOURNAMENT:
- The Zags have played in the event the last three seasons, taking fifth in 2016 (+35) and third in 2015 (+37), before finishing with just three active players at the 2017 tournament.
- The Zags have played in other events in Western Washington, highlighted by taking second at the 2013 WCC Championships at Gold Mountain Golf Course and Olympia Golf Course in Bremerton, Wash.
- Players will tee off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. each day at the 6,039-yard Tacoma Country and Golf Club. Monday will feature 36 holes, followed by the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. 
 
LAST TIME OUT:
- Gonzaga freshman Quynn Duong led the Zags with a 20th-place finish at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational and a score of +5 for the tournament after a final round 74 (+3).
- Gonzaga finished in 15th as a team after a final round 300 as a team.
 - Jessica Mangrobang finished tied for 40th at +9 after a final round 74, while Francesca Santoni picked up three late birdies to shoot 75 on the day and finish tied for 63rd.
 
FRESHMAN SHINES
- Freshman Quynn Duong has posted GU's top individual finishes in each of its first two tournaments, cracking the top 20 each time.
- Duong came in second in her first-ever collegiate tournament with a +7, three-round score at the Battle at Old Works, then followed up with a 20th-place finish at GU's own Coeur d'Alene Invitational.
 
SCHEDULE:
- GU hosted the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational for the second straight year.
- The Zags are playing in three tournaments they entered last season, the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational, the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, and The Gold Rush.
- New tournaments for the Bulldogs this year include, the Battle at Old Works (earlier this fall), 41st Pat Bradley Invitational, Battle at the Rock, Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, and the Red Rocks Invitational.
- Gonzaga has previously played in every event except the Pat Bradley Invitational and Battle at the Rock.
