Pumpelly Named Third Team All-West Region

Zag senior defender earns regional honor
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer's Ariana Pumpelly was named third team All-West Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
Pumpelly is the first Zag to be named All-Region since Sheridan Jones was tabbed third team in 2010.
Pumpelly was a centerpiece in a GU defense that allowed only 18 goals this past season, which ranked second in the West Coast Conference. Gonzaga was third in the league with seven shutouts in 2018. Pumpelly started in 52 of her 69 career appearances in a Bulldog uniform. The Tualatin, Ore., native played a team-high 1,704 minutes in 2018.
Pumpelly was selected Second Team All-WCC and Academic All-Conference honorable mention shortly after the season.
