
Men's Tennis Beats Yale, 5-2

IRVINE, Calif. - Gonzaga men's tennis dominated the singles matches on the way to a 5-2 win over Yale at Great Park in Irvine, Calif., on Saturday afternoon.
The Zags dropped the doubles point, but came back in singles a won five of the six matches to take the dual.
"After we dropped the doubles point, the guys responded really well," head coach Peter MacDonald said. "You could feel the energy from the guys in singles. Everyone was supporting each other and it was great to see Matt Perkins clinch the match."
Vincent Rettke, Emilio Moreno and Kyle Everly each won in straight sets, while both Ruadhan O'Sullivan and Matthew Perkins won in three sets.
O'Sullivan's win came on Court 1, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 over Dylan King, while Perkins was the clinching fourth point on Court 6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Rettke grabbed a 6-3, 7-6(2) win on No. 2, Moreno won 6-3, 6-1 on No. 4 and Everly won 6-4, 7-5 on No. 5.
The Zags will be back on the courts in Provo, Utah, against the BYU Cougars on March 23. That match is slated to start at Noon. Check GoZags.com for available links to live coverage.
