Zags look for their 26th straight conference road win

THE TIP-OFF:
- Gonzaga and Portland meet for the 168th time on Saturday in Portland, at 7 p.m. The Zags have a 101-66 advantage in the series.
- GU has won 10 straight versus the Pilots and is 34-22 at Portland in the series. Gonzaga has won 21 of the last 22 inside the Chiles Center.
- The Bulldogs are 37-2 against Portland under Mark Few.
- The Pilots last win in the series came in 2014, 82-73, at Portland.
- Gonzaga is coming off a 73-55 win at home over Loyola Marymount Thursday. Zach Norvell Jr. scored 17 points. Brandon Clarke added 13 points, Corey Kispert 12 and Rui Hachimura 10.
- Clarke is second in the nation with 64 blocks, third averaging 3.37 blocks, and fourth in field goal percentage (69.4). Josh Perkins is eighth in the country with 123 assists and is 10th averaging 6.5 assists per game.
- The Zags are first in the nation in field goal percentage (52.6 percent), first in scoring margin (23.4), second in scoring offense (91.2), second with 348 total assists and fifth with 341 made free throws.
- Through the first four games, the Bulldogs are outscoring their conference opponents by an average of 26.3 points.
- Gonzaga has won 25 consecutive conference games on the road, which is the longest active such streak in the nation.

- Gonzaga won the latest meeting between the teams, 95-79, in Portland. Tillie had 27 points and seven rebounds, and No. 15 Gonzaga cruised to the victory. Corey Kispert added a season-high 23 points and 10 rebounds.
- The Pilots last win in the series came on Jan. 9, 2014, 82-73, at Portland.
- Portland edged GU, 70-66, in the first-ever NCAA meeting on Jan. 18, 1959, inside the Spokane Coliseum.
 
SCOUTING THE PILOTS:
- Portland fell at home to San Diego, 76-55, Thursday.
- The Pilots' Marcus Shaver Jr. recorded his second straight game with 20 or more points, scoring 21 on 6-of-11 shooting and dished out four assists in the loss.
- The Pilots (7-12, 0-4 WCC) as a team shot a season-low 31 percent overall. Portland forced 19 turnovers.
- Shaver Jr. is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game, while JoJo Walker and Josh McSwiggan add 12.6 and 11.6.
- Theo Akwuba is grabbing a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game. Walker has thrown 66 assists this season.

- Vermont has the second-longest active streak 21 consecutive conference road wins in the America East Conference.
- The Zags are among an elite group of programs and some of the longest streaks in history.
- UCLA won 50 of 51 road contests from January of 1967 to February of 1974. Gonzaga currently has won 38 of 39, since February 2015.

- The Zags have won 38 of their last 39 road games in conference play. Since 2014-15, GU is 36-1 in WCC road games.
- During his career, Josh Perkins is 27-1 in WCC road games.
- If you include the WCC Tournament, GU has won 50 of their last 51 road or neutral league contests.
- Since the 2005-06 season, Gonzaga is 199-64 in road or neutral games.
- The Zags' 75.7-win percentage in road or neutral games tops the nation over that span.

- Gonzaga has a history of players from Portland and its surrounding area.
- Current Zag Matthew Lang grew up in the Rose City and was a standout at Jesuit High School.
- Former GU standouts Silas Melson, Nigel Williams-Goss, Kyle Wiltjer, Mike Hart and Matt Santangelo are all from the Portland area.
- Richie Frahm (Battle Ground, Wash.), Derek Raivio (Vancouver, Wash.), Dan Dickau (Vancouver, Wash.) and Zach Gourde (Vancouver, Wash.) are from just on the other side of the Washington border.
- Assistant Coach Tommy Lloyd is from nearby Kelso, Wash., while assistant Brian Michaelson starred at Jesuit High School before playing at Gonzaga. Head Coach Mark Few is from Creswell, Ore., 120 miles south of Portland.
