Men’s Soccer Falls at No. 2 Washington

GK Johan Garibay tied a career-high with seven saves

SEATTLE — In its final nonconference match of the season, Gonzaga men's soccer met a talented second-ranked Washington team that took a 4-0 victory on Wednesday night in Seattle, Wash.

Gonzaga (1-8-1) held Washington (12-1-0) to just one goal for the first 44 minutes, but the Huskies scored with just 20 seconds left in the first half to make it 2-0 heading to the intermission.

GU goalkeeper Johan Garibay made a series of tough saves in the first half on the way to a career-high-tying seven saves in the match.

The Bulldogs managed just two shots in the contest with one each from Frankie Ljucovic and Demitrius Kigeya. Gonzaga created a corner kick as a result of each shot, but were unable to capitalize.

Gonzaga will be back at home on Saturday, hosting San Francisco at Luger Field at 7 p.m. Links to live coverage will be available at GoZags.com.
