SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga volleyball team fell to visiting Pepperdine in five sets (25-14, 22-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-6) Thursday evening at the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre. The back-and-forth match featured 38 ties and 16 lead changes.
Gonzaga (6-16, 0-10 WCC) was led by
Kennedy Croft with a match-high 19 kills hitting .318 to go along with nine digs, four blocks and two service aces.
Sarah Penner and
Zoe Thiros also finished with double-figure kills with 13 and 10, respectively.
Jenna Kuehn added a double-double with a match-high 37 assists and 14 digs, while
Julia Talarico added double-figure digs with 15.
As a squad, the Bulldogs finished with 54 kills off 148 attempts to hit .250 for the match. GU added 51 assists, 65 digs and 8.0 team blocks.
Pepperdine (12-10, 8-3 WCC) finished with 71 kills on the night hitting .348 with 67 assists, 71 digs and 7.0 blocks. Four players finished with double-figure kills, led by Tarah Wylie with 18. Wylie had no errors off 22 swings to hit .818 for the night.
Gonzaga continues its homestand Saturday, Nov. 2 against visiting Loyola Marymount at 12 p.m. inside the Martin Centre.
