Women’s Tennis Finishes Day 3 at the Cougar Classic

GU grabbed a trio of singles wins on the day
PULLMAN, Wash. – Gonzaga women's tennis' Haruna Tsuruta, Tamara Anderson and Katie Day each won a singles match on the final day of action at the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash.
"This weekend was another opportunity to get more match experience, and we are headed in the right direction," assistant coach Natalie Pluskota-Hamberg said. Lisa [Hart, WSU head coach] and her crew did a great job running a smooth tournament."
With Tsuruta and teammate Tamara Anderson slated to face off in the consolation final of the Crimson Flight, GU elected to play extra singles matches against other opponents. Tsuruta took a 6-0, 6-4 win over Gabrielle Dekkers of Utah State, while Anderson defeated Lucy Octave from Utah State 6-2, 6-3.
Katie Day also took a win in singles when Montana's Claudia Reguant retired with Day up 3-0 in the first set.
Gonzaga will be back on the court in two weeks at the ITA Regional in Palo Alto, Calif., from Oct. 18-22. Check GoZags.com for available links to live coverage.
