Montana State, Idaho and Portland will join GU Friday-Sunday

Tournament Notes:
- Matches will be played at the Stevens Center beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
- GU will be joined by Portland, Montana State and Idaho for the tournament.
Fall Success
- Haruna Tsuruta and Cate Broerman have each notched six wins in the fall season thus far.
- Ketels made an impressive singles run at the ITA Northwest Regionals, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to the top seed.
- Broerman also made a run at regionals winning three matches to make it to the Round of 16.
- Broerman also reached the final of her bracket at the Cal Invite in her first career tournament.
- Vlada Medvedcova is 4-2 this fall, while Tamara Anderson and Katie Day have three wins each.
Team Notes:
- Head coach D.J. Gurule is in his 16th season at the helm of the Gonzaga women's tennis program.
- GU returns seniors Kate Ketels, Haruna Tsuruta and Katie Day and sophomores Vlada Medvedcova and Tamara Anderson.
- The Zags welcome four freshman to the squad as well as one transfer in Taylor Gruber from Missouri.
- The group of newcomers includes California natives Jenna Sloan and JennaMarie Gordon, Arizona's Cate Broerman and Montana's Maria Frampton.
- Tsuruta posted a 9-6 singles record and 11-10 doubles record last year, playing in the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup.
- Ketels went 9-12 in singles and 15-13 in doubles, playing primarily at No. 5 and 6 in the lineup.
- Gruber brings collegiate experience to the squad after posting a 16-11 mark, spending time in the Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6 spots in the Tiger lineup.
Look Back to 2018-19
- The Zags ended the season ranked No. 51 and finished the year with a 13-10 overall record
- They advanced all the way to the West Coast Conference championship match before falling to top-seeded and sixth-ranked Pepperdine.
- The season included All-America and WCC Player of the Year awards for Sophie Whittle, berths in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships by Whittle and Graciela Rosas, and the pair being named to All-WCC Teams in singles and doubles.
