THE TIP OFF:
- Gonzaga and Michigan meet for the first time in the championship game of the 2019 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis on Friday, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
- The Zags are 15-19 against Big Ten Conference competition, including 14-13 under Mark Few.
- GU won its latest matchup versus a Big Ten opponent, beating Illinois in the quarterfinals of the Maui Invitational last season, 84-78.
- This is Gonzaga's second trip to the Battle 4 Atlantis.
- The Bulldogs are 4-1 all-time in the championship round of
the tournament. GU placed third at the event in 2015.
- Gonzaga is coming off of a thrilling 73-72 overtime win over No. 11/10 Oregon Thursday. Filip Petrusev scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Zags. GU limited the Ducks to 33.8 percent shooting from the field.
- During his two games at the Battle 4 Atlantis, Corey Kispert is shooting 12 of 16 from behind-the-arc, and averaging 22.5 points per game.
- The Bulldogs have won 28 straight regular season games, the longest active streak in the nation.
- After eight games, GU is second in scoring margin (25.3), third in scoring offense (87.1), fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5), sixth with 139 total assists, sixth in field goal percentage (50.9) and 11th with a 11.4 rebound margin.
- Joel Ayayi's 3.25 assist-to-turnover ratio is 20th in the nation. He has 29 assists to nine turnovers.
- Filip Petrusev currently leads the West Coast Conference in blocked shots per game (1.6) and is second in field goal percentage (59.0), and offensive rebounds per game (3.3).

- Michigan is coming off a 73-64 win over No. 6/4 North Carolina Thursday. The Wolverines led by as many as 24 points in the second half. Eli Brooks led Michigan with 24 points. Isaiah Livers added 12 points, while Jon Teske scored 10 and grabbed eight rebounds.
- The Wolverines forced UNC into 21 turnovers and blocked seven shots.
- Four Michigan players average double-digit scoring led Livers' 16.3 points per game. Brooks chips in 13.7 points per outing. Teske is scoring 12.3 points per game, while pulling down 8.8 rebounds a contest. Zavier Simpson has already dished out 55 assists in six games, and averages 12.2 points per game.
