Women’s Soccer to Honor 11 Zags Wednesday

Gonzaga closes regular season home slate on Senior Night

QUICK KICKS:
- Gonzaga hosts BYU on Senior Night Wednesday at 7.
- The Zags have captured their third-straight 10-win season. Gonzaga had four consecutive double-digit win seasons from 2003 to 2006. GU now has seven double-digit win seasons in program history.
- 11 of GU's 17 matches this season have been decided by one goal, and the Zags are 7-4 in those games.
- This season, the Bulldogs received a vote in the national poll. It the first time the program has appeared in the national rankings since receiving votes in 2005.
- Gonzaga is one win shy of matching the program record for most wins in a single season. The 2005 and 2008 Zags reached 12 wins in their seasons.
- The Bulldogs are 22nd in the nation averaging 8.18 shots on goal per game, and 38th averaging 16.2 shots per outing. GU is second in the WCC in both of those.
 
SCOUTING THE COUGARS:
- Brigham Young comes to Spokane unbeaten this season, with one draw (2-2) at Santa Clara.
- BYU won in dramatic fashion in double-overtime at San Francisco Saturday, 2-1.
- SaraJayne Affleck scored the game-winner in the 102nd minute off of an assist by Lizzy Braby.
- Elise Flake had the other BYU goal in the 57th minute.
- The Cougars outshot USF, 32-19, with an 11-9 edge in shots on goal. Sabrina Davis made seven saves for BYU.
- Flake has scored a team-high 16 goals, and has a team-best 35 points, with three assists.
- Mikayla Colohan has added 11 goals and five assists. Braby leads Brigham Young with nine assists. Cameron Tucker has seven goals and six assists.
- Davis leads the conference with an 81.1 save percentage, allowing only eight goals to 37 saves.
 
THANK YOU SENIORS:
- The 11 student-athletes that will be honored Wednesday have been a part of the third-most successful four-year stretch in program history.
- Since 2016, GU has gone 37-27-8.
 
MILESTONES:
- GU reached 11 wins for the first time since 2007.
- Gonzaga has four West Coast Conference wins in a season for only the third time in program history.
 
LOOKING AHEAD ... at PACIFIC:
- GU wraps up the regular season at Pacific Saturday.
- The Tigers own the all-time series, 7-4-1, including 3-1-1 in the matchups in Stockton.
- The Zags have won the last three meetings, including 2-1 at Pacific in 2017, and 1-0 in Spokane last year.
