- Gonzaga is back in the swing of conference play after defeating San Francisco in a 4-0 sweep at home last weekend.
- The Zags are 2-2 in WCC play, with a win over Santa Clara and losses to then-No. 37 San Diego and then-No. 39 BYU.
- Pepperdine enters the match a perfect 3-0 in league play and ranked No. 9 in the nation.
- After the weekend's two road matches, GU will return home for its final two matches inside the Stevens Center.
- Whittle moved from No. 8 to No. 9 in the latest ITA rankings released. She is 23-8 on the year and 8-3 against ranked opponents.
- In singles, Vlada Medvedcova, who plays the No. 5 spot, is 9-4 on the year overall, while Domonique Garley, who plays No. 3, is 12-8 overall.
- The 21st-ranked GU doubles tandem of Whittle and Graciela Rosas is an amazing 16-1 on the season, and is 3-1 against ranked opponents.
- Rosas and Whittle were named the WCC Doubles Team of the Week earlier this season.
- Whittle was named the WCC Singles Player of the Week for her dominant win at the No. 1 spot against Santa Clara and San Francisco in WCC play
