EUGENE, Ore. — Gonzaga baseball suffered a 10-3 loss at Oregon on Tuesday night in Eugene, Ore.
After clawing back early, Gonzaga (28-21) wasn't able to overcome two errors that led to six total unearned runs for the Ducks (26-24).
Austin Pinorini had two hits,
Nick Nyquist knocked two runs and Troy Johnson scored twice while hitting another double. His 26th double of the season brings him within one of the GU single season record of 27.
Gonzaga sent five pitchers to the mound in the game, getting a perfect eighth form
Taylor Davis and just one run allowed by
Daniel Naughton across 2.0 innings to highlight the staff.
Gonzaga went down 3-0 after three innings, but a two-run double from Nyquist in the fourth got the offense going momentarily.
Oregon added four unearned runs after a two-out GU error in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead.
The Zags answered with one in the sixth on a bases loaded walk by
Brett Harris, but that's all they could get in the frame.
The Ducks came back with three more in the sixth, two unearned, to make it 10-3.
