Women’s Tennis Ranked No. 51 to End Season

GU sets program-high final ranking

TEMPE, Ariz.
– Gonzaga women's tennis completed one of the best seasons in program history with a program-record final ranking of No. 51 in the season-ending Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings released recently.

The Zags were ranked as high as No. 38 during the season, and broke the previous season-ending record of No. 64 from last season.

GU finished the year with a 13-10 overall record and advanced all the way to the West Coast Conference championship match before falling to top-seeded and sixth-ranked Pepperdine.

The Zags season included All-America and WCC Player of the Year awards for Sophie Whittle, berths in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships by Whittle and Graciela Rosas, and the pair being named to All-WCC Teams in singles and doubles.

GU's season came to a close with Whittle in the Round of 64 in the singles championships, and the pair bowing out in the Round of 16 in the doubles championships.
