LAST TIME OUT
- Gonzaga was unable to get its first win of the season last week, as GU suffered a 1-0 loss to UC Santa Barbara at home, before falling to Cal Poly 3-1 on the road.
- Against Cal Poly, Demitrius Kigeya scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Brady Henderson, but GU was behind 3-0 at point with under 10 minutes to play.
- Including the UCSB match, GU has suffered four of its six losses by one goal. 

TAKING SHOTS
- Gonzaga has had equal to or more shots on goal than its opponent in four of six matches this season, and taken more corner kicks in three matches.
- Joe Corner and Mark McEntosh lead the team with five shots on goal, followed by three others with three each.
- Demitrius Kigeya leads the team with 12shots overall, including three on goal.Frankie Ljucovic has taken 10 shots, while McEntosh has nine and both Theo O'Malley and Cole Rovegno have each taken eight shots.

FRESHMAN OFFENSE   
- Rookie Cole Rovegno's goal against Sac State was the first of his collegiate career. 
- Rovegno also leads the team in shots with seven through the season's first two games, including two on goal.

KEEPER STATS
- Gonzaga's redshirt freshman goalkeeper Johan Garibay has played all 540 minutes in net for the Zags.
- He has a goals-against average of 2.00 and has made 18 saves, including a career-high seven against Cal Poly.

COMING BACK
- Gonzaga graduated five seniors from last season's squad, but returns eight players that started at least 12 of the 18 games last season.
- On offense, 67 percent of GU's scoring returns, including leading goal scorer Demitrius Kigeya. 
- Four GU freshmen that played significant minutes return for their sophomore campaigns: Frankie Ljucovic, Chris Geanon, Demitrius Kigeya and Mark McEntosh.

PRESEASON ALL-WCC
- Gonzaga men's soccer player Demitrius Kigeya was named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team, selected by the league's head coaches and announced Monday afternoon. Kigeya was named to the WCC All-Freshman team last season.
- Gonzaga was also selected to finish seventh as a team in the preseason poll, while Saint Mary's was the unanimous choice to win the league.

FACING TOUGH COMPETITION: 
- Gonzaga will face four NCAA Tournament teams from last season over the course of the 16-game schedule.
- The Zags faced Washington in an exhibition, and will go to Seattle to face the Huskies in the middle of the regular season.
- GU's league slate the rest of the way then features three NCAA teams that all won their postseason opener last season in Portland (road), Saint Mary's (home) and Pacific (road).

OFFENSIVE RETURNERS:
- Freshman Demetrius Kigeya led the way for the Zags in 2018 with eight points on a team-high four goals. He also had team-highs in shots (32) and shots on goal (16).
- Returners Quinn Liebmann, Theo O'Malley, Chris Geanon and Joe Corner each scored for the Zags last season as well. Liebmann had a pair of assists to go along with his goal for a total of four points.
