SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 win over Idaho State Friday.
The Zags (7-2-0) won their fourth straight game on a rainy evening at Luger Field. GU dominated the match outshooting the Bengals, 28-1. Gonzaga didn't allow an ISU shot until the 84
th minute. The Bulldogs placed 15 shots on goal, forcing the Bengals' (1-7-1) Katie Hogarth into 11 saves.
After a few quality chances through the first 40 minutes, GU's
Sophia Braun opened the scoring in the 40
th minute. Braun's second goal of the season came off of a corner kick by
Taylor Kernion. It was Kernion's second assist of the season.
In the 61
st minute, the Zags'
India Jencks scored her third goal of the season.
Payton Stiles played a ball up the right side of the field,
Madeline Gotta crossed it into the box on her first touch, and Jencks struck it into the net. Jencks' 18
th career goal moved her into fifth all-time in program history with 44 points in her career.
Kernion was on the receiving end of a goal in the 76
th minute. She headed in her third career goal off a cross from
Jordan Thompson in the box.

th minute, GU's
Maggie Conners kicked in a cross from
Samantha Heilman.
Caroline Keever was also credited with an assist on the play.
The Bulldogs controlled the possession in the match, possessing the ball for 61 percent of the time. GU had a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Zags and Baylor meet for the first time ever Sunday. The Bears (3-2-3) tied No. 2 USC Friday, 2-2. Sunday's kickoff in Waco, Texas, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus, with live stats on GoZags.com.
