LAST TIME OUT
- Gonzaga suffered a pair of one-goal losses in its first two meetings of the season, dropping a 1-0 match at Tulsa to start the year.
- In its home opener, freshman Cole Rovegno fired in a free kick to tie the score at 1-1 against Sac State, but the Hornets added a late goal to take the win 2-1. 

FRESHMAN OFFENSE   
- Rookie Cole Rovegno's goal against Sac State was the first of his collegiate career. 
- Rovegno also leads the team in shots with seven through the season's first two games, including two on goal.

KEEPER STATS
- Gonzaga's redshirt freshman goalkeeper Johan Garibay has played all 180 minutes in net for the Zags.
- He has a goals-against average of 1.50 and has made four saves. 

COMING BACK
- Gonzaga graduated five seniors from last season's squad, but returns eight players that started at least 12 of the 18 games last season.
- On offense, 67 percent of GU's scoring returns, including leading goal scorer Demitrius Kigeya
- Four GU freshmen that played significant minutes return for their sophomore campaigns: Frankie Ljucovic, Chris GeanonDemitrius Kigeya and Mark McEntosh.

PRESEASON ALL-WCC
- Gonzaga men's soccer player Demitrius Kigeya was named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team, selected by the league's head coaches and announced Monday afternoon. Kigeya was named to the WCC All-Freshman team last season.
- Gonzaga was also selected to finish seventh as a team in the preseason poll, while Saint Mary's was the unanimous choice to win the league.

FACING TOUGH COMPETITION: 
- Gonzaga will face four NCAA Tournament teams from last season over the course of the 16-game schedule.
- The Zags faced Washington in an exhibition, and will go to Seattle to face the Huskies in the middle of the regular season.
- GU's league slate the rest of the way then features three NCAA teams that all won their postseason opener last season in Portland (road), Saint Mary's (home) and Pacific (road).

OFFENSIVE RETURNERS:
- Freshman Demetrius Kigeya led the way for the Zags in 2018 with eight points on a team-high four goals. He also had team-highs in shots (32) and shots on goal (16).
- Returners Quinn LiebmannTheo O'Malley, Chris Geanon and Joe Corner each scored for the Zags last season as well. Liebmann had a pair of assists to go along with his goal for a total of four points.  

LOADED PRESEASON SCHEDULE:
- The Gonzaga men's soccer tuned up for the season with three exhibitions, all against NCAA Tournament teams from last year. 
- Gonzaga played Washington to a 1-1 draw in the final exhibition of the season at home.
